There are many new developments in the Lawton-Ft. Sill Community!  Lawton has many new restaurants, shopping centers, and community activities. Just last week it was announced that a splash pad will be built in Elmer Thomas Park which will be a great addition to our park.  You will find that Lawton-Ft. Sill features numerous recreational activities such as biking with Lawton Friends of the Trail, Kid Zone Park, and LETRA (Lake Elmer Thomas Park and Recreation Area just to name a few.  Don’t forget to check out the local water park to for some family fun on a hot Oklahoma day!

With the Wichita Mountain Refuge just in Lawton Fort Sill’s backyard, you can enjoy many outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, mountain biking and camping just a few minutes from town.  The area offers many nice lakes for fishing and boating.  If you love the outdoors, this is the place to be.  You can view many free roaming buffalo, deer, elk and long horn or take a stroll through the visitor center to learn more about the history of the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge.
